01/09/2009 SCAD-eLearning senior media designer Aaron Pompei (B.F.A., photography, 2006) recently was named a Higher Education Adobe Leader. Pompei will serve on a board with other education leaders to enhance creativity, communication and collaboration, as well as improve the teaching and learning experience Adobe offers. 01/09/2009 Chair Audra Price, Ph.D., was selected to participate in the Georgia PSC/NCATE Board of Examiners training Feb. 21-25. 01/09/2009 SCAD-eLearning recently won runner-up in the Most Viral category of Adobe's eLearning Challenge. The SCAD-eLearning video received the second most views - 2,674 - out of 28 entries posted to various Internet sites other than the competition host, Brickfish.com. View the video. 01/09/2009 Graduate student and SCAD Web content producer Kristine K. Stevens published the article "A stitch in time: Fiber arts show comes to Dimensions Gallery" in the Jan. 6 issue of Connect Savannah. The article is about "Stitch Spectacular," an international embroidery exhibition organized by fibers M.F.A. candidate Rubi McGrory and studio technician Karin Soderholm. 01/09/2009 A story by Kyle Strickland (B.F.A., 2008) will be published in the book "A Florida Christmas" (Cliff Road Books), which features work by prominent writers including Jimmy Buffett, Ernest Hemingway, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Stephen Crane. 01/08/2009 Interior design student Jackie Livelli, who previously won the Icon of Industry 2008 award from NEWH ("The Hospitality Industry Network"), was asked by NEWH to speak at its Leadership Conference, Jan. 9-11, in San Diego, Calif. 01/07/2009 An 8-page interview with chair Brenda Brathwaite is featured in the new MIT Press Book "Beyond Barbie and Mortal Kombat: New Perspectives on Gender and Gaming" edited by Yasmin Kafai, Carrie Heeter, Jill Denner and Jennifer Sun. 01/06/2009 Kamilah Powell (M.F.A., graphic design, 2008) is a Web designer at South Magazine, Savannah, Ga. 01/06/2009 Wathanyoo Rattanangsu (M.F.A., graphic design, 2006) was hired by Frog Design, New York, N.Y., an award-winning global innovation firm. 01/06/2009 Alumna Jill Phongsa (B.F.A., graphic design, 2006) is a graphic designer at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, Ga.
