Scholarships may be awarded to current students based on artistic and/or academic achievement and financial need. Information about scholarships is available under the student resources tab of MySCAD, titled "Scholarships for Current Students." The application process begins April 1 and ends April 30. To apply, return to MySCAD's "Scholarships for Current Students" between the dates above and complete the electronic application. Students may apply for as many scholarships for which they meet the criteria. If a scholarship is awarded based on full-time status, students must maintain the full-time status in order to receive disbursement of funds. Unless otherwise noted, scholarships that state a minimum of 45 undergraduate credit hours at SCAD will accept a minimum of 15 credit hours at SCAD for graduate students. All winners will be posted on this site by June 1. Beginning in 2008, the bursar's and financial aid offices will not be notified of a student's award until a mandatory thank you letter for the donor is submitted to institutional advancement.

Alumni Endowed Scholarship
This $3,900 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate SCAD student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.7 who demonstrates significant financial need, involvement in the community and/or the college and an interest in alumni association involvement after graduation. Eligible applicants must have completed at least 60 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 30 credit hours as a graduate student at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Student portfolios are required, if applicable, for all finalists.

Anniversary Scholarship
This $6,700 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipients must demonstrate exceptional leadership and involvement in the college community by serving as a leader or officer in an official college club or activity.

The Arnell Lewis Land Art Scholarship
This $1,100 scholarship is awarded annually to one female undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, whose permanent address is in Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Florida.  The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be pursuing a course of study in painting, ceramic arts, drawing, illustration or sculpture.  This scholarship is renewable.

Art History Department Endowed Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in art history with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Art of Teaching Scholarship
This scholarship was established by staff member James Lawton in recognition of Beth Lawton for her demonstrated excellence as a teacher. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching program who has demonstrated a commitment to the education of youth, including teaching at public primary schools or volunteering at community groups such as the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House, etc. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and exhibit financial need. The scholarship is renewable only once for a maximum of two awards.

BB&T Scholar Endowed Scholarship
This $5,700 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time student who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: the applicant's permanent address must be within the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

Ben Tucker Endowed Scholarship
This $1,300 scholarship will be awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is African-American and is from the Savannah/Chatham County area. The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and have demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Betty Anderson Endowed Scholarship
This $2,100 scholarship, established in honor of SCAD accountant Betty Anderson, is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have a record of community involvement and leadership at the college as well as demonstrated financial need. Applicants must submit a brief statement of purpose with application. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Betty Cummings Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Newton family in recognition of Betty Cummings, a dedicated longtime employee and positive representative of the Savannah College of Art and Design. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate SCAD-Savannah student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have earned 45 credit hours at SCAD, demonstrate financial need, leadership ability and community service.

Board of Visitors Scholarship
This $20,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: demonstrated financial need and service as an exemplary representative of the college in the community.

Board of Visitors Scholarship II
This $14,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: demonstrated financial need and service as an exemplary representative of the college in the community.

Bug Away Specialists Inc. Scholarship Fund
This $1,300 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Buxton Family Endowed Scholarship
This $600 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in sequential art, who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. and demonstrated financial need. The recipient will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

The Carson Company Scholarship
This $3,800 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipient must be an architecture major who demonstrates financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Charlie and Marie Pepe Scholarship
This $4,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria: academic excellence and financial need demonstrated through participation in the work-study program.

Chih-Chun Chang Memorial Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship, established in memory of graduate computer art student Chih-Chun Chang, is awarded annually to an international graduate student majoring in animation, broadcast design and motion graphics, interactive design and game development or visual effects who demonstrates financial need, is involved in community activities and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Corbin Lee Flowers Scholarship
This $700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Craig Harding Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship, established in memory of illustration alumnus Craig Harding, is awarded annually to a current undergraduate student majoring in illustration who has a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, has a record of community service, and demonstrates financial need.

Dan Fantauzzi Memorial Scholarship
Established in the memory of Professor Dan Fantauzzi, who chaired the graphic design department for 15 years, this $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a graphic design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Dennis Bowman Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Digital Media Endowed Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Eligible applicants must have declared one of the following as a major: animation; broadcast design and motion graphics; interactive design and game development; sound design; or visual effects.

Earle W. Newton Hogarth Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Newton family to honor the memory of Earle W. Newton II, Ph.D., and his keen love and appreciation of the art of William Hogarth. This $5,000 merit-based scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD-Savannah art history student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. The recipient must have earned 60 undergraduate or 30 graduate credit hours at SCAD. Within the application essay, applicant must address his or her appreciation of William Hogarth and his work.

Eric Shea VanScoten Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Eric VanScoten, who planned to attend SCAD, this $800 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be an industrial design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Florence R. Inman Endowed Scholarship
This $700 scholarship is awarded annually to one interior design or historic preservation undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Foundation Studies Scholarship
This scholarship competition is open to first-year students who have completed a minimum of one foundation studies course at SCAD. The winner receives a $1,200 tuition scholarship.

The Friedman Family Endowed Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a domestic undergraduate student majoring in graphic design who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Gar Day Ding Memorial Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship, established in memory of architecture professor Gar Day Ding, is awarded annually to a student in the architecture program. Applicants must be enrolled full time, have completed ARCH 252 Structures I and ARCH 352 Structures II, be currently enrolled in ARCH 406 Architecture Design Studio VI, present a high quality portfolio of work in the structures related courses and design studio, and maintain grade point average of at least 3.0 within the major and a 2.0 overall. The scholarship award is based on the merits of the applicant's structures performance in coursework and studio work as shown in an academic performance review held in the spring quarter of the fourth year of study. Both domestic and international students may apply for the scholarship. An application form is available in the architecture department office. Submission of an application form, official transcript and a portfolio is required for scholarship consideration. Students may apply only once for this scholarship.

Gelman Trust Scholarship
This $1,100 scholarship is awarded annually to a minority (priority is given to students of Hispanic descent), full-time graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Eligible applicants must be painting graduate students who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at SCAD.

Gregory Hines Performing Arts Scholarship
This $1,300 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate performing arts student who demonstrates financial need, has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and who will have completed 45 or more credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Hank Stembridge Scholarship
This $1,400 scholarship is awarded annually to an interior design student based on the merits of a mandatory portfolio review. Applicants must be enrolled full time in the undergraduate interior design program, have successfully completed INDS 210 Interior Design Studio II, possess a high-quality portfolio and maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 within the major and 2.0 overall.

Hill-Fulp Scholarship Fund
This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time M.A.T. or graphic design student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a permanent resident of North Carolina. The scholarship is renewable up to five years as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Hugo Boss Fashions Inc. Endowed Scholarship
This $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate fashion student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Hunter Maclean Endowed Scholarship
This $800 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and a recommendation from a faculty member. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Integrated Project Solutions Scholarship
This $2,200 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be an animation, broadcast design and motion graphics, interactive design and game development, sound design, or visual effects major. In addition, recipients will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

International University of Monaco Scholarship
The International University of Monaco is offering tuition waivers to SCAD alumni for its Master of Business Administration program or Master of Science in luxury goods and services program.

Jack Leigh Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of photographer Jack Leigh, longtime friend and mentor to SCAD students, this $1,200 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a photography major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

James W. Bostwick III Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship, established in memory of graphic design professor Jim Bostwick, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student majoring in graphic design. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Jason Andler Memorial Scholarship
This $800 scholarship, established in memory of computer art student Jason Andler, is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have a record of community service and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Jim Alley Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of computer art professor Jim Alley, who taught at SCAD for 16 years, this $1,200 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a graphic design major who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Josh Yu Chinese Painting Scholarship
This $600 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student who has completed PNTG 334 Chinese Painting. Students may be eligible for nomination by painting faculty each February.

Karin Shier Memorial Scholarship
In memory of fashion student Karin Shier, two $3,125 scholarships are awarded annually to exceptional undergraduate students pursuing degrees in fashion. The first scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore majoring in fashion design who demonstrates financial need. The second scholarship is awarded to a senior also majoring in fashion design who demonstrates outstanding fashion skills and creativity, as well as a willingness to help other students.

Kiah Painting Scholarship
This $650 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in painting with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Knox Endowed Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time historic preservation undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Linda Jane Messerschmid Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Maryland art teacher Linda Jane Messerschmid, this $1,200 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Make a Difference Scholarship
Created by Susie Clinard, a 1983 historic preservation graduate and the 1994 Outstanding Alumna of the Savannah College of Art and Design, this $2,700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in historic preservation who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Mason-Conners Endowed Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in interior design who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Mauldin Scholarship
This $500 scholarship, established by Michael and Judy Mauldin, is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student, who is a minority student pursuing a degree in fashion, film and television, sound design, performing arts, production design or advertising design. Eligible applicants must be permanent resident of Georgia or North Carolina, maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Michael P. Archer Memorial Scholarship
This $1,100 scholarship was established in memory of SCAD painting student Michael P. Archer and is intended to provide assistance in purchasing art supplies. The recipient must be an employed full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. Eligible applicants must have completed a minimum of 25 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Nancy N. Lewis Endowed Scholarship
Established in honor of Savannah portrait artist and patron of the arts Nancy N. Lewis, this $5,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Recipient must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Notrica Family Endowed Scholarship
This $3,700 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need and a record of community service. In addition, eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Parents Association Scholarship
This $8,300 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be an exemplary representative of the college, demonstrate financial need and have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours as an undergraduate student and a minimum of 30 credit hours as a graduate student at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Faculty may be asked for recommendations and top finalists will be interviewed.

Paris Market and Brocante Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship was established to nurture and support the artistic dreams of a candidate who wishes to study at SCAD-Lacoste. Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

The Parker's Companies Scholarship
This $1,100 scholarship is awarded annually to the architecture degree candidate who best combines scholastic achievement with a design philosophy that supports structural excellence and aesthetic cohesion within existing environments. Eligible applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Photography Endowed Scholarship
This $2,100 scholarship is awarded to a full-time, international undergraduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be pursuing a degree in photography and demonstrate financial need. The recipient must also have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable up to three years as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Precision Computer Services Scholarship Fund
This $1,100 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time graduate student. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and exhibit community involvement.

Richard L. Allen Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This $4,000 scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher who demonstrates financial need. Priority will be given to students who have lost a parent or spouse through a tragedy.

Robert Andrew Devries Memorial Scholarship
This $800 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who will have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Priority will be given to a student with a neurological disability. The award is not renewable.

Sachiko Honda Silhouette Scholarship
This $600 scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior who is majoring in fashion. Applicants must provide a portfolio, resume, CAPP report and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75. The fashion department chair and two design faculty members will make recommendations.

Sean Moran Memorial Scholarship
In memory of illustration student Sean Moran, this $1,100 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is employed, who demonstrates financial need, and who maintains a 3.0 grade point average in his or her major course of study.

Silver Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. The scholarship award must be used to offset the cost of tuition, room and board or books and supplies. The recipient must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and show exceptional leadership and involvement at the college, with a record of community service.

Stage Front Presentation Systems Endowed Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Recipients will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the criteria.

Stanton Performing Arts Scholarship
This $1,400 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in performing arts or production design. The recipient must demonstrate a strong work ethic, achieve superior class accomplishments, display a positive and scholarly attitude in all major coursework, serve as an active ensemble member and support the methodology and mission of the department.

Sue Rokfalusi Fund
This scholarship was established by professor Mark Rokfalusi and his sister, Vivian Rokfalusi, in honor of their mother, Sue. This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student studying advertising, graphic design or illustration. The winning student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership ability.

Thomas McCabe Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Thomas McCabe, who served SCAD for a decade, this $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time graduate student majoring in painting. The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Additionally, qualified applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by spring quarter. Careful consideration is given to artistic ability; a portfolio review submitted by spring quarter is required.

Tomorrow's Writers Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in a professional writing major or creative writing minor.

Traci Haymans Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of professor and illustration department chair Traci Haymans, who taught at SCAD for 21 years, this $3,000 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in illustration with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The student will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Wachovia Scholars
Two $5,000 scholarships are awarded based on academic standing and financial need to undergraduate and graduate students from the Wachovia service area: Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas and Washington, D.C. Eligible undergraduate applicants must have completed more than 90 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Wahrman Furniture Design Scholarship
This $1,600 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a furniture design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

The William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholarship
This $9,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a minority, full-time undergraduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Both domestic and international students may apply.


SCAD-Atlanta Institutional Scholarships

SCAD-Atlanta scholarships may be awarded to current students based on artistic and/or academic achievement and financial need. Many of these scholarships originated at the Atlanta College of Art and were established in memory or honor of patrons of the arts in Atlanta.

Ben Shute Scholarship
Establish in memory of Ben Shute, co-founder of the Atlanta College of Art, this $6,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has concluded his or her junior year with a total of 135 credit hours. The recipient will be selected on the basis of excellence in representational painting, drawing or graphic design.

Edward Ross Scholarship
Established in memory of Edward Ross, alumnus and professor of art at the Atlanta College of Art, this $200 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student. The recipient must be majoring in a liberal arts program and demonstrate financial need.

Forward Arts Foundation
This $30,000 grant from the Forward Arts Foundation is for two students who are enrolled in a fine arts major such as painting, printmaking, photography or sculpture. Each student selected will receive $15,000 toward tuition and must be a full-time student with a demonstrated financial need who maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Fred Gregory Scholarship
Established in memory of Fred Gregory, associate professor of painting at the Atlanta College of Art, this $200 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student enrolled in painting, photography, sculpture or printmaking.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship I
Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this $4,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time senior majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0.  The recipient must have completed 135 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship II
Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time junior majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0.  Eligible applicants must have completed 90 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship III
Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time rising sophomore majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0.  Eligible applicants must have completed 45 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Guthrie Foster Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Elizabeth Guthrie Foster, the first woman to head the Atlanta College of Art. This $700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who is majoring in a liberal arts program.

Helen Seydel Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Helen Seydel, a patron of the arts in Atlanta who was killed in the 1962 Air France crash at Orly. This $500 scholarship is awarded to a senior painting major. The recipient must have a grade point average of 2.7 and demonstrate financial need.

Holder Construction Scholarship
This $3,200 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time junior or senior with a grade point average of 3.0 and a demonstrated financial need.

James V. Carmichael Scholarship
Established in memory of James V. Carmichael, a prominent Atlanta business and civic leader, this $200 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student upon recommendation of SCAD-Atlanta faculty members.

Jasper Newton Dorsey Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Jasper Newton Dorsey, a valued member of the Atlanta business community, this $600 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student. The recipient must have a grade point average of 2.7 and demonstrate financial need.

Joel C. Reeves Scholarship
Established in memory of Joel C. Reeves, Atlanta artist and past dean of the Atlanta College of Art, this $3,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student.  Recipient must have a grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

Laura Whitner Dorsey Scholarship
Established in memory of board member and lifelong supporter of the Atlanta College of Art Laura Whitner Dorsey, this $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student with a grade point average of 3.0 and a demonstrated financial need.

Phenomenal Focus: Award for Excellence in Photography Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to two photography majors with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The recipients will be selected by SCAD-Atlanta photography faculty members.

Vesta Johnson Scholarship
Established in memory of Vesta Johnson by her sister Mrs. Earl Croft, this $800 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student based on the recommendation of SCAD-Atlanta faculty.


Institutional Off-campus Programs Scholarships

Travel scholarships in varying amounts are awarded to qualified students who have been accepted to participate in SCAD off-campus programs. Eligible students may apply at the office of off-campus programs in York Hall. For more information, call Blaine Hansen at 912.525.4770.

Ben C. Morris Memorial Scholarship
In memory of SCAD professor Ben C. Morris, who taught at the college for 13 years in five different departments, a scholarship equal to the tuition for one course is awarded in a competition for students attending any off-campus program.

European Travel Scholarship
This $2,500 scholarship is awarded in a competition for students attending off-campus programs in Europe.

Neely Elizabeth Toohill Memorial Scholarship
This $2,500 scholarship is awarded in a competition for students attending any off-campus program.

Prix Heliographique
This $1,500 scholarship, established by SCAD professor Craig Stevens, is awarded once annually to a photography student participating in the off-campus program in France and/or Italy. Applicants must submit a portfolio to be juried by photography department faculty.

SCAD-Lacoste Board of Trustees Travel Scholarship
A quarterly scholarship of $900 to pay travel expenses is awarded to a student attending SCAD-Lacoste. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.
