The Savannah College of Art and Design is committed to the pursuit of excellence and welcomes applicants who have the same high standards. The college maintains a selective admission policy, accounting for a student body that is enthusiastic about the programs of study and capable of advancing rapidly.

New students may enter fall, winter, spring or summer quarter. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online and to apply as early as possible. Students applying for federal or state financial aid should plan to complete their application file and submit all financial aid information at least six months prior to intended entry quarter. Otherwise, students should be prepared to pay first-quarter tuition, room and board through personal funds, as processing of federal or state monies may not be completed until after the student has enrolled. Students who wish to be considered for institutional scholarships must indicate this on the application for admission and must submit all required materials as requested. Scholarship funds are limited and are awarded to the earliest qualifiers.

As a general rule, applications for fall quarter should be completed no later than March 1 in order for admission decisions to be rendered by April 1. Scholarships for fall quarter are awarded by May 1 and students are requested to indicate their acceptance of admission and of institutional scholarship offers by June 1 through payment of a one-time matriculation fee. This same time frame applies with corresponding dates for students entering winter, spring or summer quarters. Applications received less than one month prior to the intended entry date are considered only on a space-available basis.

The administrative unit responsible for undergraduate, transfer, graduate, and international admission decisions is the Admission Review Committee, which consists of recruitment and admission staff and administrators. Faculty in the intended area of study also participate in review of applicants for graduate programs. The committee meets regularly to review applications and renders admission decisions on completed application files.

The college reserves the right to verify all documents submitted in application for admission. Any falsification of admission documents or portfolio or audition materials constitutes grounds for termination of application procedures or dismissal from the college. Permanent residents must submit proof of legal residency such as a copy of a resident alien card.

Application inquiries should be directed to the admission office by calling 800.869.7223 or 912.525.5100 in Savannah; 877.722.3285 or 404.253.2700 in Atlanta. SCAD-eLearning applicants should call Savannah. The Savannah admission fax number is 912.525.5986; in Atlanta, the fax number is 404.253.3466. E-mail may be sent to SCAD-Savannah, SCAD-Atlanta or SCAD-eLearning.

Online applications are preferred. Applicants are encouraged to follow online instructions for e-mail transmittal, paying a $25 application fee, but also may download, complete and send the application with $50 fee to the appropriate mailing address. Applications will not be processed until both the application and the fee are received.
