Exceptions to the general admission rules may be made for applicants of unusual motivation and ability. Such a student may be admitted at the end of the junior year in high school, omitting the senior year, if he or she has a grade point average of 3.5 or above through grade 11, if SAT or ACT scores are above the national average, and if the student’s counselor and teacher recommend early admission. Students who wish to be considered for early admission must follow the application requirements for first-time freshmen and request early admission on the application form. In order to be accepted for early admission, the student must demonstrate an advanced level of maturity, leadership and responsibility. Students are encouraged to complete high school or earn a General Equivalency Diploma before entering college. Early admission applicants who wish to apply for federal financial aid or be considered for institutional scholarships should contact the admission department.
