These organizations are defined by geographic boundaries and are composed of former students and friends of SCAD who live within the designated geographic area. Each organization is led by a volunteer board (and, in some cases, by an individual contact) that works with the alumni services department to plan, implement and evaluate programs and activities.
Chapters are governed by the established charter and have a leadership team to help administer the activities of the chapter. These programs must have a minimum of seven volunteers. The leadership team will have access to alumni lists, receive funding for mailings and events (depending on budget) and will have regular and consistent contact with the alumni office. It is required that a detailed chapter development plan be submitted annually to the alumni relations office. It is recommended that the leadership team meet quarterly and organize at least three events per year, submit regular meeting minutes and submit an event report for each activity that is completed. Clear leadership roles and working committees will be established to serve local constituents as well as to provide support for SCAD.
Clubs are led by a planning committee with at least three alumni volunteers. These volunteers have access to alumni lists, receive funding for mailings and events (depending on budget), and have regular and consistent contact with the alumni relations office. It is recommended that these clubs organize one to two events per year and submit an event report for each activity that is completed.
Groups are led primarily by one or two local contacts. These groups may have up to one event per year, which may coincide with travel by a SCAD administrator or faculty member.
