Consult your faculty adviser in selecting elective courses.
Proficiency is required in reading and translation of French, Italian, Spanish or German. Students can meet this requirement by passing the language exam administered by the department. Students also must pass a comprehensive exam as part of the degree requirement.
Architectural history courses at the appropriate level may serve as art history electives with faculty adviser approval.
Students are required to take courses from at least three of the four major periods of art history: ancient, medieval, Renaissance through rococo, and modern. Additionally, students are strongly encouraged to take non-Western courses.
* Select one of these two courses.
Course numbers and titles are subject to change.
