What Is It?

SCAD Card SCAD Card is a multifunctional identification card with a magnetic strip encoded like a credit or ATM card.

For the busy SCAD student, faculty or staff member on the go, nothing is more convenient than the SCAD Card! Not only is SCAD Card your ID, but it also may be used as a debit card at college facilities and with retailers who participate in the SCAD Card program.

How Do I Use It?

Using SCAD Card is easy! Once you have your SCAD Card, take it with you everywhere. To use, simply swipe SCAD Card through the card reader or scanner at any location that accepts it. Your balance is displayed or printed after each transaction.

How Do I Get a SCAD Card?

The SCAD Card is available to all Savannah College of Art and Design students, faculty and staff. Getting a SCAD Card and opening your debit account is easy as 1-2-3!

1. Have card, will travel…
Each student is issued an identification card during orientation. This identification card is your SCAD Card. Use it to access card-secure college buildings (including residence halls), attend college-sponsored events, use your meal plan, and check out books from the library. To receive your SCAD Card during orientation, present a photo ID (for example, driver’s license or passport). Faculty and staff are issued cards when they begin employment with the college. To learn more, contact the human resources department at 912.525.5532.

  • SCAD Card debit accounts are separate from student accounts in the bursar’s office, though students can easily have funds transferred from student accounts to the SCAD Card.

  • Protect your card as you would any credit card. Keep out of extremely hot temperatures and away from magnetic fields.

  • Cash withdrawals are not permitted.
  • College employees may set up direct deposit of payroll funds into SCAD Card accounts.
  • Lending one’s SCAD Card or failing to present it when requested by a college official is a violation of college regulations and subjects the holder to disciplinary action.
