Department partners with Atlanta Jewelry Show
The SCAD metals and jewelry department has partnered with the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association Atlanta Jewelry Show for the past five years to recognize and showcase SCAD student talent. SCAD is the only school asked to partner with SJTA, and will showcase student work in a competition at the show March 6-8.
Alumni finalists in NICHE Awards
Ashley Warsaw (M.F.A., metals and jewelry, 2009), Baiyang Qiu (M.F.A., metals and jewelry, 2009) and Mary Pulk (B.F.A., metals and jewelry, 2009) are finalists in the NICHE Awards in the fashion and fine jewelry categories and wearable fiber category.
Professor, student work at Telfair Museum
Metals and jewelry professors P.J. Chen and Jay Song, and undergraduate students Hyun Sun Park and Alexis Turner, were invited to participate in "The Story of Silver in Savannah: Creating and Collecting since the 18th Century" exhibition at the Telfair Museum of Art.
