Neda Ulaby, National Public Radio national arts and culture reporter, received a tour of the Savannah College of Art and Design Student Media Center from undergraduate sequential art student Ben Frisch April 23.
Frisch, who serves as SCAD Radio news director, interned with the NPR Arts Desk in Washington, D.C., during Summer 2007 and met Ulaby there.
“I spent a lot of time researching and transcribing interviews for reporters,” he explained. “I also participated in NPR's Intern Edition, which is an online NPR News Magazine created entirely by interns.”
Ulaby traveled to Savannah for “A Conversation with Thomas Hoving” April 23, 7:30 p.m., at Trustees Theater. At the event, Ulaby conducted an informal interview with the former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
During her visit to Savannah, she also met up with Frisch for coffee and a tour of the Student Media Center.
“The tour with Neda was pretty short, but she got to see all the facilities,” he said. “She was very impressed by how nice the space is.”
A story Frisch created for NPR’s Intern Edition was picked up by Weekend Edition Sunday.
