ATLANTA - The Savannah College of Art and Design will host Print Dialogue Days Sept. 25-27.  The conference is sponsored by the American Print Alliance and is free and open to the public.

Since 1997, Dialogue Days has been an annual gathering of professional and academic printmakers from the southeastern region of the United States. This year participants will attend panel discussions, demonstrations, printmaking collaborative events and a special viewing of prints from the High Museum's collection.

Two events kickoff the conference on Thursday evening: an open house at the Atlanta Printmaker's Studio and an opening for "The Art of Democracy" exhibition at The Portal Gallery, Metropolitan Parkway SW, No. 6026. Friday night features "Georgia 291," an exhibition of prints from faculty and professional printmakers residing in the state of Georgia at Art House Gallery and organized by SCAD-Atlanta professor Richard Gere. The opening reception for "Georgia 291" will be part of the Castleberry Art Stroll, Art House Gallery, 309 Peters St.

"In the past few years there has been a large resurgence in printmaking around the Atlanta area," Gere said. "SCAD's new program in Midtown and the rise of the Atlanta Printmaker's Studio has injected many works on paper into local galleries and museums. The SCAD-Atlanta Printmaking Department is excited to be hosting the American Print Alliance Dialogue Days and looks forward to the opportunity for students to network with colleagues from other programs around the region."
