The SCAD painting program includes contemporary and traditional methods of painting, installation, digital media and performance.

Visiting Artist Program
Working artists spend a term at the college giving presentations, teaching courses, conducting critiques and visiting studios. Recent artists in residence include John Bjerklie and Ju-Yeon Kim.

Private Graduate Painting Studios
Provides studio practice with ongoing mentoring and critical feedback from faculty.

Each quarter, one advanced painting student is selected for a studio residency in New York City supported by the college.
