Job Magnet
Did you know that employers looked at more than 3,000 student and alumni resumes on the Job Magnet last quarter? Don't wait to check out the new Job Magnet. It is now only available to the SCAD community, and it offers fast résumé approval, the ability for all students to post portfolios and a more effective alumni mentoring network. Employers will have easier access to candidates, while students can track how many employers have viewed their materials and how many candidates have applied for each position. The career services office maintains contacts with employers all over the United States who are interested in hiring SCAD interns and graduates to fill positions in art and design fields. The Job Magnet lists internships, freelance, part-time and full-time opportunities as well as Web sites to assist with your job search. Employers will contact you directly to invite you to an interview or request additional information. For more information about using the new Web site, e-mail the career services office at careers@scad.edu. Online Résumé Database
Employers can search our résumé database to find qualified applicants for internship, freelance, part-time or full-time positions available within their organizations. The employer will contact you directly to request your portfolio or demo reel, or to schedule an interview. On your College Central account, you can keep track of which employers have viewed your application materials.
Alumni Career Network Database
You may request a list of alumni career network members who are willing to share strategies for breaking into various industries as well as job listings, contact names, work environment conditions, job responsibilities, general salary ranges and realistic salary expectations. They also can give information about relocating to a particular city–estimates for rental property, climate, population, activities and transportation. Contact the office of career services for further information. An alumni mentoring network soon will be available on the Job Magnet to all students and graduates by major and geographic location.
Digital Portfolio
The digital portfolio offers employers a simple, consistent, easy-to-access means of viewing your best student and graduate work.
Student Employment Office
